DreamMentor
Connects youth with caring mentors who exemplify success in their respective career fields. Experienced professionals provide resources and experiential learning opportunities to our youth. Through the nine-month program, mentors build bonds with mentees and receive support from each other, while workshops equip mentees for college and career readiness.
CollegeMentor
Provides workshops and one-to-one mentoring focused on college admissions applications and financial aid. Monthly workshops equip participants to apply to all the application systems and provide expert instruction on every element of a successful application package, including school matching, personal statements, and recommendation letters.
HopeMentor
Offers uniquely tailored services to meet the needs of youth residing at the Union Rescue Mission in DTLA and South LA (Angeles House). MFC hosts STEAM activities and personal development workshops focused on career exposure, cultural exploration, resilience, social-emotional learning, and the arts.
Reentry Action for Youth
Mentor For Change provides mentor-based reentry support to justice-involved youth, offering one-to-one mentoring, life-skills coaching, and linkages to education, employment, and health resources.
Social Enterprise Cafe
Mentor For Change is taking the next step towards advancing youth economic mobility by launching a social enterprise cafe in Boyle Heights. The social enterprise will provide paid workforce training and equip systems-impacted youth to become employment-ready. The social enterprise is co-designed with youth to create a space that fosters social-emotional development, cultivates meaningful connections through hands-on learning and workplace mentorship, and showcases youth talent and leadership.
Youth Advisory Board
Composed exclusively of graduates from MFC’s DreamMentor program, the YAB is actively reshaping MFC to become not merely a youth-serving organization but also a youth-led organization.
